L'Amour D'Hier is the last tune on my first solo album, called Solo? I last played it in the finals of the 2011 Guitarist of the Year Competition at the Royal Festival Hall in London. It was incredibly hard to play to the backing track that I can barely hear (and with no click). I learn all these hard lessons so you don't have to! Besides one of the other finalists was Rick Graham.......! Rick is one of the best musicians on the planet, so I had a bet that he would win. He bet me a pint that I would win. Spoilers......I didn't win! More spoilers.....Rick won the competition, so I won the pint! So, remember it's not the winning that's important, it's who buys the drinks afterwards! The piece shows off my 'Pink Floyd' Rivera M60 (with a #Providence Flame Drive into the input), which I bought from Tim Renwick. It also features my #mjs Custom guitar (with #lace Alumitone Deathbuckers) and the expressiveness of the #spitfireaudio Solo strings (triggered by my #fishman #tripleplay Play) and Studio Orchestra (I only used the Core version here). The album version was played with my Electric Banana triggering a Roland GR-33 which triggered the instruments in Garritan Orchestra. If you want to hear more of my classical side then my first solo album, Solo? is available on Itunes, Spotify etc.
