MY GEAR
Pictured, one of my modified Ibanez 550s (electric mango), my Elite Strat, my Patrick Eggle Berlin pro prototype, my Rivera TBR (top of rack), my Rivera M60 (bottom of rack) and my rack containing my TC-electronics D2, G-major and Roland JV1080 (in the middle)
Amp wise I use my Rivera M-60, which was previously owned by Tim Renwick of Pink Floyd.
I also use my Rivera TBR head for my solo gigs and for my stints with U2 tribute FU2K. This runs 2 2x12 cabs loaded with one Celestion vintage 30 and one classic lead each.
Just for the amp spotters both amps are loaded with Harma Diamond EL34s from Watford Valves.
I have two heavily modified Ibanez 550's. The "Electric Banana" and the "Electric Mango"(shown in first picture). They are identical in every way except for their colors. They have smooth unlaquered necks, Seymour Duncans Allan Holdsworth (bridge) and jazz (neck) and standard Ibanez middle pick ups, Roland GK-2 midi pickups, custom wiring (pick up selection goes, bridge/bridge-neck/neck/neck-middle/middle), no tone control and the volume controls further down. I use them for sessions( if the session requires a keyboard player), for some of my solo performances and for gigging with the Hooky Doughnuts.
My other strat type guitar is a Levinson Blade something or other (pictured with the electric banana), modified with a Seymor Duncan JB junior and a Roland midi pickup.
If you see me playing with jazz fusioneers Curfew then I will either be playing my Patrick Eggle Berlin Pro (shown on top of my amp in first picture) or my Steinberger GM-4, which for the anoraks amongst you is loaded with EMG 85s. Also my Eggle has a Wilkinson locking trem (which I love) and a Mammoth tusk nut fitted to it! Ask Patrick.
I also occasionally use my fenders for sessions and recording. I have a Elite Strat (shown in fist picture), with active stacked humbuckers and mid shift and mid boost instead of tone controls and a triangular shaped Katana (above) loaded with Seymour Duncans Jeff Beck(bridge) and jazz(neck) pick ups and a floyd rose bridge( after I destroyed the original fender bridge by swinging the guitar around my head by the whammy bar. Not recommended!)
I also use my home made fretless monster (Same pic as the Godin). This was an Aria strat copy which, after reading the fantastic book by Bill Milkowski about Jaco Pastorius, I thought it would be a great idea to rip off all the frets and create a fretless guitar in the same way that Jaco did.
Acoustic wise I use my two Yamahas. I have a CG-170SA classical and a ANX cutaway electro acoustic. I also use the Godin ACS nylon string Midi acoustic (called Hilda after my grandmother).
Honorable mentions also for my Ibanez Roadster fluorescent pink HK bass and for my two Gibson Explorer copies, one of which is half size and tuned to A.
My FX all come from the Boss GT-5 floor pedal which I use through the FX loop of the Rivera. I have my wee live rack which contains my TC-electronic units D-two and my G major which effects the guitar side of my rig and I have my Roland gr-33 which controls the Jv1080 (The JV1080 has been modified with an orchestral expansion card) and old Korg M3/r for my live synths(not pictured). These units are all controlled by my MOTU midi express midi doodah. I use the Boss GT-5's pedal board to control my midi setup.
