MAINS JAM

<empty>In the mid nineties in a climate of musical anti-heroes and under indulgence rose an original jazz power trio. Calling themselves Mains Jam after a dangerous musical incident with a dodgy guitar lead they terrorized Eastern Scotland and the rest of the world with their own specialized form of instrumental hybrid audio opuses Dubbed by the local press as "High Energy Fusion".

With Stu Milne on lots of drums, Jono (clackity clack) Heale on lots of basses and Nick Andrew on lots of guitars they used "the equal amount of jamming and beer" principal and eventually came up with some tunes and a delicious, but extremely lethal cocktail called, funnily enough, a 'Mains jam'.

In 1995 they released their debut EP "Plugged" (as opposed to unplugged which was the fashion of the time!).

Containing only 4 tunes Plugged was a mixture of styles and influences mainly jazz, funk and rock. The more commercial follow up album was recorded, but never released. There are plans to re-release Plugged as a full cd with all of the next album as well. This will not be until next year sometime, so keep checking the news section of this sight.

Mains Jam were the Vital Tech Tones of Scotland in the 90's and they have left their musical stamp firmly on the psyche of the indigenous population, and some American pilots (Don't ask!)

These are samples from the original "Plugged" EP.
