Here is a wee taste of the other things that I get up to.

ESKB

Something of a supergroup was formed 3 years ago,
before which they toured and recorded individually with acts such as
Ravi Shankar & George Harrison, Jon Lord, The Brand New Heavies, Belinda Carlise, Lulu, Gorillaz and many more. The band comprises of lead singer/songwriter and guitarist Paul Murray & Stuart daye, drummer Richard Spooner, guitarist Nick Andrew and violinist/String Arranger Antonia Pagulatos. This is from a wee demo recorded last year and the album will be finnished soon!

YERMA

I was asked by a friend of mine to write some music for a play by Lorca called "Yerma". It's a bit of a weird one about a woman who is desperate to have a baby and who is in love with someone other than her husband. Think East Enders set in early 20th century Spain!

I will eventually get round to writing a suite around the themes I used in the music, meanwhile here is the demo of one of the main themes.

CURFEW

"Tribal Tech meets Weather Report and goes Drinking" is how to best describe Curfew, my Jazz/Fusion band. I love playing with these guys because I get to play what I like, they are excellent musicians to bounce off and live, you never know what will happen! This is a wee flamenco style solo from a tune on the latest album. It's called "Waltzing on Water" and is inspired by another Lorca play "Blood Wedding" . This is my version of the fight scene and the aftermath where you don't know if the hero or villan survives!

 

FU2K

Here as some examples of my work with FU2K, a U2 tribute band in which I (of course) play guitar and Midi guitar. These recordings were mainly recorded live with a few overdubs. This band was great fun and was another "supergroup" with Brad Snelling (West end musical writer) on vocals, Jono Heale (also in Mains Jam) on bass and Richard Spooner (Doc Spoons) on drums.
